Self reflection 2 Acrylic on recycled wood 44 x 82 cm
Self reflection is a group of paintings of my body painted from my point of view. They are a response to classic paintings by male artists who have been portraying nude women as objects instead of subjects for centuries,
according to the theory of the male gaze coined by Laura Muley in her article Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema.
In Self reflection 2, I present three blurry and unfinished bodies that are mixing with each other in an unsettling way.
